R4 Custom skins/themes
So now you have your R4, got a couple games, and maybe even a little music, now all you need to do is get yourself an awsome skin to go with your awsome R4.
The place that I’ve found on the net for R4 skins is ndsthemes.com they have the most gargantuan selection that you’ll find anywhere!! All you have to do once at the page is type what you want into the search engine and then download it!(super easy, right?)
Next just apply it and you’ll be all done!! Congrats! you know have an awsome new skin!

hey this just in- try youtube- theres a few tutorials on adding skins (though i’m not quite sure if they’re legitimate.
All you have to do is when it opens your R4 menu, just press select, and it’ll change

I’m one of the guys on the NDSthemes, here’s how you do it on an R4:
1 – Firstly, search for the theme you want on the site.
2 – Next, go to the specific theme you want, then you can download it.
3 – After you download it (which will be pretty quick), you will have to unzip it. Use WinRar, WinZip, or some other unzipping tool to open the file.
4 – Now, you have all the files you want for your theme. Extract all the *.bmp files and the *.ini file to a folder which you can easily find.
5 – If you want to put the theme straight on your R4, go to the main drive where your R4 memory is. Go into these folders: R4 main directory => _system_ => themes
6 – If you don’t have a themes directory, just make one in the _system_ folder. In there, you will have 12 folders named in numeric order (example: theme01, theme02, theme03, all the way to 12). If you don’t have this, create these.
7 – Copy the files from the folder earlier for the theme and paste them in one of the theme folders. Remember, you must have the correct theme files in all twelve folders to work. While at the R4 main menu on the DS, press ‘Select’ to change themes.

well my problem is that when I press select nothing happens O_o help ehh and any time i download a theme i have to change it slightly in photoshop because not all the settings are correct for my DS from the themes i downloaded from NDSthemes
check out how to put these themes on via utube. It shows you step by step. Make sure you have the latest system file on your card and send the themes to the theme folder in system folder.

Can anyone help as to why I can’t see the images just a fuzzy picture pelease?
You just see a fuzzy pictures because the system can’t read 32 bit image file…
you have to open the bmp files in photoshop. Then.. save as and replace the file again in bmp format.. and while saving, choose the 16 bit option… after that.. you reload the edited file to the themes folder. it works for me..

its fuzzy for me to and when i put it on photoshop cs3 there is no 16bit bmp so i when on image>mode and then selected 16bit and then save as but then there isnt a bmp option the is any bmp option when it on 8bit 16bit or 32bit either
